FAQ

FAQ +

  • Eligibility Requirements for Cosmetic Tattooing:

    • Botox/Dysport Injections: All injections must be scheduled at least 14 days before or after your appointment, as it takes 2 weeks for neurotoxins to fully set. If injections are done within 2 weeks of your appointment, you will be rescheduled.

    • Pregnant or Breastfeeding: Cosmetic tattooing cannot be performed on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    • Accutane: Clients must discontinue Accutane for at least 12 months before receiving cosmetic tattooing.

    • Skin Conditions: Certain skin conditions, including rosacea, acne, sunburns, psoriasis, and others, may disqualify you. For specific inquiries, please email us at musesociety.ne@gmail.com.

    • Medications: Some medications may affect your eligibility for these services. For questions regarding your specific medications, please reach out.

    • Age Requirement: All clients must be at least 18 years of age.

Please note, cosmetic tattooing isn’t suitable for everyone. If any of the following apply, you may not be a candidate. For questions about your specific situation, feel free to reach out to us at musesociety.ne@gmail.com.

  • I require anyone who has had permanent makeup done on the target area by another artist to submit clear photos to musesociety.ne@gmail.com prior to booking an appointment.

  • Most clients report little to no pain. I will use a topical lidocaine throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable. Some clients pain tolerance can vary but I will do everything to keep you as comfortable as possible. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised about the whole process.

  • Initial appointments are a detailed, carefully crafted experience where we work together to create the perfect shape and balance for your brows. This is a true art form, and beautiful results take time. Please plan accordingly, and come with excitement and patience as we bring a vision to life.

  • Permanent makeup is a fantastic way to define and enhance natural features, but it’s essential to have realistic expectations about its effects. Unlike traditional makeup, which sits on top of the skin, permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo applied within the skin. This means certain effects achieved with makeup may look different with PMU. Since the results are long-lasting, placement is incredibly important, ensuring that your look is beautifully balanced and suited to you.

  • Yes! The initial touch-up, also known as the perfecting session, is our chance to make any necessary adjustments and perfect your brows or lips for years to come.

Touch-ups can be scheduled any time from 6 weeks to 6 months after your initial session. After 6 months, it’s considered a Color Boost or Refresher appointment. I typically tell my clients to wait until their brows are 70-80% faded before returning for their refresh appoinment.

  • Proper aftercare is essential for achieving the best results! Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure optimal healing. You’ll receive all necessary aftercare products at your appointment.

    Brows

    • Keep Brows Dry: Until all flaking has stopped, avoid water on your brows—this includes showering, sweating, saunas, and steam. No workouts until flaking is complete (typically 7-10 days).

    • Cleanse: Gently cleanse morning and night with the provided cleanser for 5-7 days.

    • Apply Aftercare Balm: Use a thin layer of aftercare balm on the brows 2-3 times daily for 5-7 days, and or until flaking has stopped and they don’t look or feel dry.

    • No Makeup Near Brows: Avoid makeup on or around the brows for 14 days. You may apply makeup elsewhere but keep at least a one-inch buffer around the brows to prevent infection.

    • Sun Exposure: Minimize direct sun exposure for two weeks. Plan vacations or outings to limit sun exposure.

    • Hands Off: Do not touch, pick, rub, or scratch the brows. Let the scabs and flakes come off naturally to prevent patchiness or scarring.

    • Avoid Certain Skincare Products: Keep anti-aging or acne products away from your brows permanently, including those with Retinol, Glycolic Acid, or Salicylic Acid.

    Lip blush

Proper aftercare is key to achieving beautiful, long-lasting lip blush results! Please follow these instructions closely to support your healing process. You’ll receive all necessary aftercare products at your appointment.

    • Keep Lips Dry: For the first 24 hours, avoid getting your lips wet. Except when washing with provided cleanser. Afterward, limit exposure to water, and avoid hot, spicy, or acidic foods that could irritate your lips until peeling has finished (typically 7-10 days). In addition avoid any foods that can stain your teeth (think candies, colored foods, etc)

    • Cleanse: Gently blot your lips with provided cleanser 2x a day to keep them clean.

    • Apply Aftercare Balm: Use a thin layer of the provided aftercare balm on your lips 2-3 times a day (or more if necessary) for the next week to keep them hydrated and comfortable.

    • No Makeup on Lips: Avoid wearing lipstick, gloss, or any other lip products except those provided until healing is complete to prevent irritation or infection.

    • Sun Protection: Limit direct sun exposure for at least two weeks, as sun can cause premature fading and disrupt healing. Apply SPF balm once healing allows.

    • No Picking or Peeling: Allow the lips to peel naturally. Avoid touching, picking, or rubbing to prevent patchiness, scarring, and color loss.

    • Avoid Certain Skincare Products: Keep all anti-aging or exfoliating products away from your lips, including Retinol and acids, as they may affect the color.

By following these steps, you’ll be on track for beautiful, long lasting results.

Pre appointment info and policies

  • Description Four weeks before- before your appointment please discontinue use of all retinols and retain-a and do not receive any chemical peels. These products can cause the skin to thin and turn over quicker which makes it extremely delicate and sensitive. Permanent makeup over skin in this state can cause excess trauma and will affect your results.

Two weeks before- please do not receive any injectable such as Botox, Dysport, or fillers in the lips (if doing lip blush). These can take up to 14 days to set in and we would want to work with the final results after injections.

Avoid excess sun exposure, we will not be able to work over skin with any degree of sunburn and you will have to be rescheduled.

Stop waxing, tweezing or tinting your brows w few weeks prior to your appointment. This will help me to see your natural shape and growth.

Two Days before- please stop use of any blood thinners such as aspirin, niacin, vitamin e, fish oil, CoQ10, and ibuprofen. Blood thinners can cause you to bleed more during the procedure, this can affect the results of the procedure. Please only discontinue use of medication with doctor’s approval if necessary.

24 hours before- please do not consume caffeine, alcohol, or smoke cigarettes. These substances can cause excessive bleeding or they can dehydrate the skin causing it to become difficult to work with. If we are unable to work due to excessive bleeding or tough skin we will have to reschedule your appointment.

  • Description *Lip blushing- For lip blushing clients: be sure to hydrate your lips well for one week leading up to your appointment. Two days before, and again the night before, use a lip scrub to gently remove any dead skin—this will help ensure the best results. Keep those lips moisturized on these days as well! If you need a lip scrub, reach out; I offer a pre lip care kit available for purchase. (This kit will continue to be useful, even after your appointment, it will include a lip scrub and lip hydration).

  • Day of appointment- for your appointment, please arrive with freshly washed hair as we will be taking lots of photographs and want you to feel your best! If you tend to get cold easily, consider bringing a blanket or jacket for comfort, even during the warmer months. Feel free to bring headphones if you'd like to listen to your own music or a podcast. During the procedure, the artist will need to focus to ensure amazing results, so we kindly request limited talking at that time.

Please take a moment to carefully read through the following pre-appointment and policy pages. This information is essential to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for you. Your understanding and adherence to these guidelines help us provide the best possible service. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • By booking an appointment you are agreeing to the full policy stated in the consent form provided to you prior to your appointment and that you will follow said policy along with pre-care and aftercare requirements

  • Booking requires a non-refundable booking fee of $75 for permanent makeup procedures, this will be applied to your total due on day of service. All booking fees are non-refundable.

A 72 hour notice is required to make changes to your appointment

A reschedule must be done at least 72 hours in advance to avoid fees. If you reschedule at least 72 hours in advance, your booking fee will be applied to a new appointment. Cancelling or rescheduling within 72 hours of your appointment will result in losing your booking fee and being required to pay a new fee when booking your next appointment.
